Please note, unless you specifically know what a person sounds like, or how they talk, it may not be them. Recently people have gotten into numerous player accounts, teamspeaks, skypes, emails, paypals etc. We wanted to make you all aware of this, and also provide you with some guidelines to help keep your account secure.

DO NOT trust anyone unless you are 100% positive it is them. 

People can claim to be someone else on teamspeak, skype, minecraft, etc. Just because it say's its a certain person, doesn't mean it's actually them. This could be as harmless as a friend or sibling playing on their account, or as serious as someone completely different who has stolen their account. Always be cautious when talking to new people, and always try and have a way to "prove" if someone is who they say they are. 

For example, if it's your friend, try having a codeword or phrase that you both know, or go on teamspeak and talk with them to hear that they are who they say they are.

DO NOT give out any information about your minecraft account, personal information, skype, emails, paypal, etc.

Never share any personal information over the internet with someone. Do not share minecraft accounts and passwords, emails, phone numbers, paypal account info etc.  All of these things can be used to gain access to your accounts, and personal information. This can lead to accounts being stolen (minecraft, facebook etc), money being taken, credit card numbers, etc. It can become quite a mess for you, as well as your parents. 

If you need to use your paypal information to purchase something (server ranks, in-game money, donations etc) , make sure you are on a secure website before putting in any information. (Click on the links at the top of this website, don't use a random link someone sends you.)

NO ONE FROM ANY OF THE HARDCORE MINECRAFT SERVER'S WILL ASK FOR ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION:

There are no "undercover admin/mods", and you cannot buy any staff positions (admin/mod). They staff, or anyone associated with Hardcore's Minecraft Servers will not ask for any personal information. (passwords, login information, phone numbers, skype names, etc.)

DO NOT click any links posted to you on the server, ts, or the website unless you completely trust the person and know its them. 

-Ask the player to link it on your wall, or past the images/video in a forum thread. 
-Explain to them that you refuse to click links for safety reasons, and that they should do the same. 

Just simply clicking on a unknown link can be dangerous, sometimes the links are connected to phishing websites, that will ask you to type in personal information, or your minecraft username and password. These websites may look "secure" or similar to a legitimate website. However, be sure to check the URL web address at the top to make sure you are on the correct authentic site. There are even links that could leave a malicious software on your computer, such as a keylogger (tracks what you type in, and where) etc. 

Any accounts that are compromised will be banned. If you think you may have given away personal information. Change all information associated with it.

        -Some examples:
             [indent] -Emails
             -Passwords
             -Addresses
             -Names (dont list your full name on social networking sites)


NOTE: This is not meant to "scare" you. This is to make you aware of these possibilities, to help you have a better understanding of them, and to know how to handle a situation like this if you are faced with one.


We hope to keep this a safe environment for all of our players, and if you see any suspicious activity relating to this, or if someone tries to get any of your personal information. Please contact a staff member with their name, and hopefully some sort of proof (screenshots etc.)

This plugin allows us to keep track of all bans and a few more features as follows.
  • how long you have on a tempban's and what the reason for the temp ban...so none of these "I don't know why i was banned" ban appeals happen :).
  • ALL permbans will be on ALL HCservers.
  • tempbans are only local to the servers but are still recorded on ALL servers that you have been tempbanned on that server.
  • kicks are recorded so if you have too many for the same reason you will be tempbanned.

Vk2gpz is constantly adding more features to the plugin which most recently include color on when getting kicked off the server when tempbanned  which he just mentioned a few moments ago.

We'll have to see what updates when, and when there's enough ones updated, we can update.

Why do we wait?
For example: Picture a server without chest protection.
Sucks, don't it? Well if Lockette doesn't update, you'll kinda stuck.

Can we say how long it will take?
No. Not really.
Based on my previous experience, should not be longer than a week? But it's all out of our control really.
